Day 1: Rif Cooking Class Experience
9:00 AM – Meet and Greet:
Your culinary adventure begins with a warm welcome at the meeting point in Chefchaouen or a nearby town. Meet your local guide and chef for the day, who will share an overview of the tour.
9:30 AM – Local Market Visit:
We’ll head to the local market where you’ll discover a variety of fresh, seasonal produce and spices used in traditional Rif cooking. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with local vendors and learn about the ingredients that define the Rif’s culinary culture.
10:30 AM – Cooking Class Begins:
Return to the cooking venue—a traditional Moroccan kitchen or an outdoor setting where the class will be held. The chef will introduce the dishes you’ll be preparing, explain the cooking methods, and demonstrate key techniques.
1:00 PM – Hands-On Cooking:
Under the chef’s guidance, you’ll prepare each dish step by step, getting a chance to practice Moroccan cooking techniques. This is a truly hands-on experience, with plenty of time to ask questions and get personalized tips.
2:30 PM – Enjoy the Meal:
Once the dishes are ready, you’ll sit down to enjoy the delicious meal you’ve crafted. The atmosphere is informal, allowing for relaxed conversation, sharing of stories, and bonding over the food you’ve prepared.
3:30 PM – Wrap-Up and Farewell:
After enjoying the meal, the chef will provide a recipe booklet with the dishes you’ve learned so you can recreate them at home. You’ll also receive tips for sourcing ingredients locally and adapting the recipes. Say your goodbyes and take home your new skills and memories!
