Spend a morning at sea with a local fisherman in Al Hoceima or Tanger. Try your hand at fishing, explore the Rif coastline and experience local fishing life firsthand.
Leave the harbour early and join a local fisherman for a few hours on the Mediterranean. Learn how fishing is done along the Rif coast, see the coastline from the water and, if the conditions are right, try your hand at catching fish yourself.
We meet at the harbour in Al Hoceima and head out early, when the sea is usually at its calmest and local fishing activity is already underway.
After a short introduction, we board the fishing boat and leave the harbour.
Once we’re away from the harbour, the fisherman will show you how fishing is done along this part of the Rif coast.
Depending on the season, weather and what is being caught that day, you may have the opportunity to help with the fishing yourself.
There is no fixed catch or guaranteed species, that’s part of the experience. Fishing is fishing.
Along the way, you’ll also have time to enjoy the coastline, the sea and the surrounding mountains from a completely different perspective.
After a few hours at sea, we return to Al Hoceima.
If you’d like, we can stop for a simple local breakfast or coffee near the harbour before ending the experience.
